At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

A reiteration of the Land Grant of 1686, with a review of the rights and privileges forthcoming to Livingston and his heirs as Lords of Livingston Manor. This grant also states that Livingston's annual rent is to be decreased to twenty-five shillings and is to be paid on the 25 March.
