A surgeon informs the Commander of the Seventh Regiment, Rhode Island Volunteers that John Meigs received pay from the United States General Hospital in Alexandria. Attached to a 13 October 1864 Military Pass for Meigs from the Provost Marshal General of Defences South of the Potomac. Signed as "paid in
full" across the page by Thomas [McKan?].
