Reed, a United States Representative from Maine, replies to a letter from [G.?] Mercer Adam (possibly Graeme Mercer Adam, a Canadian writer and publisher). Writes "...in regard to an article on silver for 'Self Culture' you do not state the amt of the honorarium' I think it probable that I could furnish you such an article..." Notes that a limit on the amount of words might make writing the article more difficult.
