Manigault, Colonel of the 10th Regiment, South Carolina Infantry, 1st Military District of South Carolina, encloses copies of orders and instructions from General Roswell Sabine Ripley (orders not included). Writes, "In accordance with which, I would request you to send to me, as a reinforcement in as short a time as possible, one regiment, or as many companies as will give a force of 800 men..."
