At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Reports that General Pierre G. T. Beauregard expects six regiments from his department, and that so far only four have been sent and are in Atlanta, and these four are being sent forward to Chatanooga. Also reports "Enemy have made no movement since capture of Pulaski." One bust engraving of Pemberton included as collateral.
