Confederate General Lomax writes to Colonel Otey of the Army of Tennessee to request that he be sent to Virginia to resume command of his division. Details the circumstances that caused him to become detached from his command. Endorsement dated 16 April 1865 by General Beauregard on the verso of the letter approves Lomax's request.
