Directed to "Gentlemen," a committee including General Henry Knox chosen to present the regiment's grievances to Congress. Captain John Mills, Major Pettingill, and Lieutenant Richard Bachs sign on behalf of the First Massachusetts Regiment. Their complaints include lack of pay, lack of subsistence, retirement without compensation, and other grievances. Address leaf includes a note to hand this document to Colonel [John] Greaton.
