Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Noted as a "true copy" and signed by John Rynier. Results from the committee's meeting concerning the German settlers in Broad Bay (present day Waldoboro, Maine). The Committee voted to have the German proclamation translated into English and to give the Committee full power in writing. Title taken from the docket.
