Letter is not signed but appears to be in Knox's handwriting. Mentions their prospects will greatly brighten due to the increase of settlers but they have hardly seen any money yet. Complains about their son (likely Henry Jackson Knox) never writing. Writes "My mind can find no other employment for him than to make him our companion, or if he gets a wife our neighbors..." Notes he has enclosed (not included) $200 for her (likely Lucy Knox) journey until he arrives. Addressee name is not listed but based on the content of the letter Knox appears to be writing to his wife, Lucy Knox. The last page of the letter appears to be missing.
