Letter is signed by ten different men who are the subscribers of a place called Sandy Stream Plantation. A recommendation of Joel Rich. Introduces Knox to Joel Rich who is a settler residing on Knox's land. Describes Rich's situation saying that the gentleman went into the woods with his family and has one son who is partly blind. Also notes most of the family had the fever when they visited them. States the family has always been peaceable settlers and asks that they receive the value of 100 acres of land or as much as Knox feels is proper. Written from Sandy Stream Plantation, which is possibly present day Sandy River Plantation located in Franklin County, Maine.
