At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Writes to his uncle, Henry Knox, forwarding his accounts that he paid with the money Knox sent him. Also asks Knox to send him a pair of pistols which he will pay for right away. Creator could possibly be George Francis Waldo Flucker, more often referred to as just Francis.
