Says things have been so "busy" during the summer that he hasn't had time to consider the survey reports. Hopes he conformed to instructions especially with "the Townships to the northward of the Land belonging to the 20 associates." Is confused about road surveys and says they "could have been executed by other people." Wants Hills to finish his work for the season as it is starting to get cold. Asks him to survey the spot where his house is being built before he leaves. Reports that Hills's family is doing well in Philadelphia, although "the City is inexpressibly distressed by the Mortal sickness which has prevailed." Noted as a copy on the docket.
