Document certifies that Treat has put a deposit on a particular tract of land, and is in the process of negotiating the purchase of that land from Henry Knox and Isaac and Samuel Winslow. Signed by Treat and two witnesses. Written from "Frankfort," the town in which Treat's land is located. No state given, but may be in Maine, where Knox and the Winslows owned land together as part of the Waldo patent.
