Writes that he was very unhappy to read Walker's recent letter, outlining their friend [William] Duer's poor financial situation. Discusses Duer's situation, as well as a financial transaction between Walker and General [Henry] Jackson. Also touches on the settlement in Maine of Madame de Leval (he spells it "LaVal").
