Indenture agreement between John Hills and Henry Knox for a survey between the Connecticut River and the Charles River. They agree that all the results shall be sent to Knox and no one else under the penalty of "one thousand dollars." The agreement also states that Knox has sent Hills "the sum of three hundred Dollars which is for the purpose of defraying the necessary expences of chain men and other necessary assistance in prosecution the said survey." Finally, Knox agrees to pay Hills three dollars a day for his work. There is a note at the end written in Knox's handwriting and signed by Hills that he "received of Henry Knox three hundred dollars." Title from docket.
