In the hand of William Knox. Replies to a letter from Faesch in which Faesch informed Knox of the death of his wife (GLC02437.03808). Offers Faesch his deepest sympathy and condolences, writing: "We suffer excessive misery at the loss of our dearest connections, but time sooth's and pours his balm into our wounds- We find we must, and that it is truly wise to submit patiently to events we can neither command or avert."
