At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Marked "Copy." Top half of the document is a copy of Lt. Col. Antill's request for provisions for 31 days for "five canadian refugees." Asks for 155 rations. Bottom half of the document says that the "above provision" is for his family. Knox gives permission for the contractors to issue the rations.
