"A man calling himself C Clark came into our lines this evening representing himself as a conscript rebel deserter but papers found on his person identify him as a Lieutenant of the 8th Va Cavalry. I believe him to be a spy of the most dangerous character & shall hold him as such. All quiet in our front the Lewsiburg road well blockaded"
