Nell sends men who are accused of being disloyal. He asserts that Edwards should be punished for lying to the colonel. Nell warns that two of the men are able but troublesome and must be kept busy. Addressed simply to Colonel, likely written to George Wortham. Written at Pettigrew's Chapel.
Excerpt: "…This man Devenport has been suspicioned some time & has recently been using language unbecoming which I sent enclosed to you. Col my man Edwards aught to be put in the guardhouse for telling you the false tale he did , if he goes unpunished it will be the means of more of my men doing the same act…."
