Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Depicts a map of the Arkansas surveying district "shewing the extent of Public Survey's in said district on the 30th September 1844." Contains boundary lines, including the Cherokee and Choctaw line, the Louisiana Line, the Missouri line, and the Mississippi River. Little Rock appears roughly in the middle of this map.
