Pennsylvania recruitment broadside published by recruitment officer Captain P.S. Tinen of the 69th Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers. Printed in blue and red ink by King & Baird at 607 Samson Street in Philadelphia. Dominated by the image of an American eagle holding a blank banner in its beak. Amounts of $650 and $750 are in the margins, advertising bounties. Says recruits are wanted for the Pennsylvania Volunteers of Major General Winfield Scott Hancock's 2nd Corps or any Pennsylvania regiment. Volunteers to report to headquarters at 106 South Sixth Street. Says recruits for the 2nd Corps to receive all government, city, and ward bounties. Says the government pays veteran volunteers $402, all other volunteers $302, and the city pays $250 to all volunteers. Says they will receive the money before leaving for "General Rendevous." Asks men to rally around the "Old Flag" with Pennsylvania native General Hancock. Date approximated from the situation of General Hancock, who was given a Corps command at the end of May 1863. Probably a recruitment broadside made during Robert E. Lee's invasion of the North. Slight damage in upper left corner.
