Confederate General Taliaferro assumes command of Virginia state forces: "The Undersigned having been ordered to this point by the Governor of Virginia hereby assumes the Command of all Virginia forces which now are, or, hereafter may be ordered to this place." Written at Head Quarters of the 4th Division of Virginia Militia.
