Countersigned by Archibald Campbell, commander at Fort George, in Penobscot (now Maine). Certifies that in October 1775, Nathaniel Deering had a quantity of cattle, sheep, and hay which was for the British troops at Boston. Also certifies that Deering was promised payment for the cattle. On the reverse is a listing dated 22 October 1775 for the goods of Deering including oxen, cows, sheep, fowl, cabbage, hay, etc. and their costs. There is also a note dated 17 June 1784 signed by Enoch Freeman that certifies the account is the truth.
