Thanks recipient for book of poetry. Discusses dinner plans with William Wilberforce and Zachary Macaulay. Buxton, Wilberforce and Macaulay were British abolitionists who worked for social reform. The letter also mentions Secretary of State Huskisson in relation to the Hottentots. Buxton also mentions meeting with Dr. Philips "on the subject of his Hottentots."
