Letter to her brother written to tell him about her first few days in Washington, GA. She reports that the news of her arrival spread quickly and that she has already had several social engagements, and that the boarding house in which she is staying is quite comfortable, including having "three, sometimes four blacks" attend on her and bring her meals. She also writes extensively about taking on the role of teacher in the local school, which is scheduled to take place on June 18.
