The captain is wearing an officer's hat and has his right hand on his hip. The 1st lieutenant is wearing a forage hat and a long coat. Imprint on recto "Brady New York." Photographers imprint on verso: "Brady's National Photographic Portrait Galleries, Broadway & Tenth Street, New York & No. 352 Pennsylvania Av. Washington, D.C."
