Published by J.M. Bradstreet & Son. Image of the regiment's seal opposite the title page. By "an ex-orderly sergeant" named John Mason. Publisher advertisement before the text says the manuscript, which had been disregarded for "two or three years," was not edited because it would have "lack[ed] the simplicity characteristic of truthfulness - the peculiar temper that, with all its imperfections, imparts so much interest to its details and descriptions." Was dedicated to Col. Washington R. Vermilye "the President and the Gentleman formerly members of the regiment." Divided into 12 chapters and consists of correspondence, documents, and written descriptions of events during the history of the regiment from the early nineteenth century through the Civil War. Other catalog records at other institutions say that Asher Taylor, the regiment adjutant during the Civil War, was a co-author of this book, but that is not explicitly stated in the book itself. Page edges are frayed when pages were cut haphazardly. A few pages are still not cut. Blue cloth cover is faded and ripped at the edges and seems to be the result of shelf wear. Gilt symbol on front cover and gilt lettering for title on spine. Inside front cover has three blue ink stamps, two say "Geo. O. Borton." The other says "Aug 17 1889."
