One letter from George Takei to Congressman Carlos J. Moorhead dated November 23, 1973. Takei writes in support of the impeachment of President Nixon. He writes, "The proper, indeed Constitutional, process is impeachment. It is a hearing to which both the public and Richard Nixon are entitled. If he can clear himself, as he claims, then this is the proper arena for it. If he is to rebuild his credibility, he must at least have cleared the cloud of doubt and suspicion around him with a legitimate and open hearing and not a staged public relations campaign. And if he is to be removed, then it must be by this lawful procedure. It is imperative that a government of law be maintained in these tying times."

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
