It reads in part, "We, the undersigned, believe our nation was founded on the principle that no citizen is above the law, and every citizen is entitled to a fair trial on charges of wrongdoing. Accordingly we ask the impeachment of President Richard M. Nixon to assure him of a fair trial on the charges that he has conspired in obstruction of justice, subornation of perjury, subversion, illegal surveillance and other unlawful activities."
