One letter from Kennith Moyer to Leonard Eugene Graeff dated March 20, 1943. Kenneth responds to Leonard's request to know more about where he is located asserting that "to put it mildly and avoid cuss words this is a hell hole. Hotness, no grass - just rain and mud." He notes the food is "scarce and horrible." The barracks are heated by one coal stove at each end. 260 men in his company are tasked with cleaning mud off of everything with only two faucets. Kenneth writes "So far the conclusion I have made is this to be a good soldier a man should have twelve arms and no brain...The moral is keep the hell out, keep the hell out, keep the hell out of the army." On the reverse side of the letter Kenneth included a drawing of his camp including the mess hall, barracks, and other buildings. He concludes his letter with "Here's to 100 years of war (see Im losing my mind)" Signed "Moyer." Written at Camp Sibert.

The copyright law of the United States (title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specific conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.” If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
