At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Sylvia is sad that it is Valentine's Day and Moe is not with her; but has received his flowers and poem. She was going to go over to the Selective Service Board after work, but it was raining too hard. Her Dad is very ill, but getting away to Florida, which may make him feel better.
