At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

A letter to say that there was $2200.00 collected in excess and that there is interest to pay on bonds. The letter also talks about a night where there was a fight; and someone said they would read Bruce's speech the next day but never came.
