A lengthy discussion of debts, currency, interest bearing certificates and the assumption of state debts by the Federal Government. Mentions Mr. Blair, Edmund Randloph, Mr. Foster, George Nicholls. Jefferson offers to forgive the debt of Mr. Berrons in exchange for books equal to the amount of the debt. Closes the letter with mention of family and announces that he is a grandfather.
