Discusses reports of vote tallies in the recent congressional election (which Sampson won) for several Massachusetts towns. Also discusses the processing of pension petitions, indicating that those from his district will be ready by 1 March 1819. Notes that he is sends President Monroe's message (possibly the state of the union) with several documents for Hobart to read (not included).
