Goldstein writes that the United Nations, "weak and faulty an instrument as it is," has been a major deterrent to a world war in the troubled times following World War Two. He discusses his reason for joining the Rabbinate, including his desire to promote the welfare of humanity and the to be of service to the cause of Judaism.
