Image shows a large group of wounded soldiers massed on the ground, surrounded by an A-frame tent and numerous wooden buildings. Graphite inscription on verso "Return to ORB" "B586" "4592/setup 6-1/138" "WH" "218." Photographers imprint on verso: "Brady's Album Gallery. No. 491. Wounded at Savage Station, After the Battle of 27th June, 1862. The Photographs of this series were taken directly from nature, at considerable cost. Warning is therefore given that legal proceedings will be at once instituted against any party infringing the copyright."
