Written by Rear Admiral Farragut to Faxon as the chief clerk of the Navy Department on stationery of Astor House. Says he saw Mr. Davis, a government paymaster, and told him to go to Washington to settle the matter of the prize money that was turned over to the paymaster of the "Pensacola."
