This is a collection of the Civil War letters of John A. Parrott to his family at home. 34th Illinois. Father is C Parrot Esqr. Emma? Wife Sarah. William?
Most of John's letters are addressed to one of his sisters, though it is often unclear which sister he is writing to, Margaret or Sophia. There appear to be six letters from John to his sister Sophia Parrott (#2, #5, #11, #14, #17, #22). There appear to be four letters to Margaret Parrott (#6, #9, #16, #24). In addition, there are twelve ambiguous letters from John that are simply addressed to "Dear Sister" (#1, #7, #10, #12-13, #15, #20). There are four letters from John to his father (#3, #18-19, #21). There is one letter from John to his brother, not Henry C. Parrott (#23). (4, 8, 25, 26, 27).
