Defends the character of a certain Mr. Slacum (possibly George W. Slacum) who stood accused of an unspecified allegation. Discusses a clerkship that was offered to him by Jackson. Expresses pleasure in hearing of the planned removal of the Seminole Indians and discusses the removal of the Seminole Indians from Florida, which precipitated the second Seminole War.
