At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

DeLancey writes that the beaver furs Philip sent him were underweight and of poor quality, and notes that he thought Philip knew better than to select such poor specimins. He states that Philip's credit is well settled, so that he may command of DeLancey what he desires. Docketed on address leaf.
