At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Published by A. N. Clark & Co., State Printers. Talks about Lincoln's life and accoplishments. Refers to Lincoln as the "president of the regenerated republic" and "martyr to liberty and law." the cover title differs from that of the title page. Has black mourning border throughout the pamphlet. A paperback copy of the sermon is also in the collection (GLC02913.02.02).
