At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Lists "expenditures in a journey from the camp round Boston to New York, Albany, and Ticonderoga." Includes two Knox signatures. The first is from 2 April 1779 at Artillery Quarters in New Jersey. Knox signs again, swearing by oath that the account information cited is accurate. Also signed by Nathaniel Ayers on 3 April 1779, Justice of the Peace for Somerset, New Jersey. Signed 6 April 1779 by James Johnston, Auditor of Accounts for the Main Army. Johnston certifies that Knox has settled his accounts. Appears to be the same as GLC02437.10469.
