Asks Lewis to review papers that came with the letter in regards to an "estate in the eastern parts of Massachusetts." Wishes with his help to finish up the business with the Waldo patent. Writes that "[i]t is extremely important to me, to complete, immediately, the purchase of this estate, if it can be done with one security to myself; and as Mr. Samuel Winslow is now waiting in town for its conclusion, I take the liberty to request your early attention to the questions which are enclosed, and to any other collatial points which may tend to give me a full and complete possession of the object of the proposed purchase."
