Our Collection

At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Tax bill is divided into state tax and town tax. The state tax includes: £2 poll tax, £1.13.6 house and land tax, £4.10.0 personal estate and faculty tax, for a total of £8.3.6. The town tax includes: £0.1.6 poll tax, £0.10.0 house and land tax, and £0.5.0 personal estate and faculty tax, for a total of £0.8.4. William owed £8.11.10 in total.
