At the Institute’s core is the Gilder Lehrman Collection, one of the great archives in American history. More than 85,000 items cover five hundred years of American history, from Columbus’s 1493 letter describing the New World through the end of the twentieth century.

Gives notice that there is a military guard at all the entrances into Boston stopping all persons coming from Philadelphia. All those people are being forced to stay on an island in the harbor 12-15 days to make sure they are not sick. Tells Knox not to attempt to enter Boston, but to send word once he is close.
