Captain Randall says he received Knox's letter of 20 June. Received payment of £36.2.6 in New York currency for lottery tickets Knox purchased. Says "your bill also for 2500 dollars on Wm Duer was this day discounted, discount 15 dollars 55 Cents." Could not obtain Philadelphia notes as lately the demand has been for money to be remitted to Philadelphia. Is prepared to answer Knox's bills at sight without the days of grace. Stamped "FREE" on verso.
