Unsigned, but handwriting for at least part of the receipt is in the hand of Henry Knox. A signature apparently for the firm Smith & Wyckoff has been struck at the bottom of the note. Note declares that two hundred dollars was given, by Henry Knox, to Captain [Henry] Burbeck for rations for his detachment on 29 August 1789. Another note at the bottom of the page declares the money was repaid 14 December 1789. The note also includes a possibly unrelated list of names.
