Orders the committee to provide Chauncey Whittlesey with 1,000 pounds to purchase tents and supplies for the Continental Army. A document signed by Whittlesey on the verso, in Oliver Ellsworth's hand, is dated 6 August 1776; it indicates that he received the money.
Jonathan Trumbull, governor of Connecticut, was the only colonial governor to support American independence.
