Quotes a Philadelphia newspaper article that characterizes opposition to War of 1812 discussed at a Quaker meeting as treason. The Quakers charge that the article is both false and a fabrication. They claim that political subjects are not discussed at their religious assemblies. They also reaffirm Quaker pacifism, but note that they are bound to live peaceably under the government, even if that means submitting to fines and imprisonment for refusing to bear arms. Issued from a Quaker meeting by the meeting clerk, Jonathan Evans. With Ex-lib stamp.

Informs Mississippi Territory's Governor Holmes that on 2 November 1813, General John Coffee attacked the Creek Indians at Tallaseehatchee in upper Alabama, killing 186 warriors and taking 86 women and children prisoners. Concludes: "If I had sufficient supplies of provisions, I would, in short time, put an end to the Creeks." In a post script, notes that "one of the Creek prophets was killed." With note at bottom of p. 1 by Tennessee's Governor Willie Blount, dated 9 November from Nashville: "This opened here by mistake." Written from Jackson's camp at Ten Islands.

A scientific note on the design of a rain gauge. Includes 18 lines on the measurement (volume and weight) of rain, written on the verso of a fragmentary address leaf to John Gads[incomplete]. "The area of the funnel is 10. square inches. The fall of an inch of rain then delivers 10. cubic inches into the funnel."
