Contains the anonymous "Address to the Officers of the Army" calling the army's general officers to a meeting (a mutinous situation) (pp. 1-12), Washington's orders of 11 March 1783 calling officers to a meeting of his own (15-24; including Washington's letter to the president of Congress after the meeting), the officer's meeting on 15 March, with Washington's address (25-41), and concluding with the officers' resolves (41-47). A "true copy of the minutes" made by George Morgan re: various minutes and agreements pertaining to the Indiana company, which speculated in land along the Ohio river. In an 1768 treaty Indians had ceded a large tract of land to the "unfortunate traders" for damages they had caused them in 1763. The Indiana company sought to acquire and sell this land. Includes minutes from a September 21-23 meeting in Pittsburg assuring the legality of the purchases and establishing rules for their oversight and sale. Signed by I. Craig, Captain of Artillery to Henry Knox, Brigadier General of Artillery. Lists stores of shells, powder, cartridges, muskets, rifles, swords, etc. Note on verso of last fold states the return differs from the last due to a fire that broke out in the barracks making it necessary to remove the ordnance stores. States that "in the confusion some small loss was sustained." Fort McIntosh became the town of Beaver, Pennsylvania. Fort McIntosh was in Ohio. Document is one long narrow sheet folded six times.
